What Are the Benefits of Denture Implants?

Dentures secured to dental implants are far and away a better system because dental implants are permanent—just like you have grown a new tooth. Simply put, dental implants place a metal post in your jawbone, and after 3-6 months, the post will have fused (ossified) with the jawbone, just like a natural tooth root.

The dental implant provides a sturdy, long-lasting base on which to place your dentures.

  • Implant supported dentures are far more sturdy than traditional dentures because they are anchored to dental implants, which can be permanent your whole life long.
  • There are two types of implant supported dentures. One is a removable denture that is like a retainer that clicks onto the dental crowns atop the dental implants. The other implant supported dentures are permanent and are attached permanently to the dental crowns that top the dental implants.
  • Because the denture apparatus is connected to dental implants, there is no chance of some of the embarrassing concerns with traditional dentures such as slipping or having the dentures fall out.
  • Implant supported dentures don’t have some of the food limitations that traditional dentures require, though your doctor can give you more information about this.

Cone Beam CT Scanner Technology

At Hereford Dental Health, we utilize state-of-the-art Cone Beam CT Scanner technology for our denture implants procedures. This revolutionary technology combines traditional scanner imagery with advanced software to create extremely detailed 3D images of your mouth and jawline. These images enable your dentist to study your precise bone dimensions before your procedure and avoid blood vessels and nerves during the placement of your dental implants. The result is a perfectly placed implant post upon which we can attach your denture appliance.
